about

Matters of Stability (TT012) has morphed into Versions of Stability in Matthias Grübel’s latest outing. Working alongside a select group of peers he has had the opportunity to create a reimagined collection. Calika brings bass and accomplished electro-acoustic melodies and intricate beats to Neon Primavera. Build Buildings chops and glitches through Sad Dream #1 - each click and cut adding to the beautifully crafted ensemble. Liebherr ups the tempo with a serious four to the floor work. The remix grinds through Atlantika accompanied by sighs and intimate moans - building urgency and seeking its climax. Autistici and Neuro… No Neuro complete the EP with an other-worldly ambient dub offering. Stars Under The Snow includes whispered vocals and a diving submarine bass intertwined with field recordings and melancholy cello phrasing.

Versions of Stability illustrate Matthias’ ability to not only engage his listeners but also inspire his co-creators and peers. A truly deep sonic and emotional space.

SOFTWARE: Ableton Live, Native Instruments Reaktor.

HARDWARE: Novation Bass Station II, Korg MicroKorg XL, Waldorf Blofeld, Fender Jazzmaster, Fender Concert Amp, various Pedals & Effects.

Berlin-based musician and producer Matthias Grübel works as a composer soundtracking theatre productions. Over the years the sound of his solo projects has morphed into a moving and ambitious blend of contemporary electronic music on the one side and the more experimental textures rooted in his stage music work on the other - always with a strong focus on a 'listening' approach in both arrangements and production. The EP‚ ‘The Longest Year In History' (Audiobulb Records) marked Matthias Grübel’s first release under his real name. In 2020 he follows on with ‘Atlantika’ single and ‘Matters Of Stability’.
